SMAP Insanity Reveals Japanese Lunacy

As you may know that the Japanese entertainment industry is sick as motherf*cker. It is especially visible through Japanese TV broadcast. Those so called entertainers are in Japanese called "Tarento" which is a Japanese-English word, probably from the word "talent". Anyway in Japan you see those talentless Tarento doing stupid shit on TV. There are many types of such entertainers like comedian, critiques, analysts, actors and actresses, idols, and etc.

I'd like to focus on idols and especially an idol group called SMAP

Now some of you might already know the name of the group since I believe they are famous amongst Asian countries. SMAP has been around since I believe 90s all the way till now. They are a group of 5 different idols. The leader is called Takuya Kimura. Of course I guess it's an idol name. The group members are mostly in their 40s and the youngest is now 38 years old. But they are still somehow considered as an idol group who are required to entertain idol obsessed morons in Japan. Now I have nothing against the group, they are doing what they have to but what bothers me the most is the fans.

The group is now to be dissolved due to their internal conflict between the members. Sure they've earned enough and they are now too old to be idols and they each said that they'd like to do something else to continue with their lives which sounds pretty natural.
However, fans are not happy about this and they actually protested against the dissolving group. It was reported that they have gathered about 370,000 signatures to oppose the decision. I mean wow, there are so many freaks out there who don't even think about what the members think or feel but rather for their own satisfaction can't accept the fact. They are saying that the group must entertain fans, like singing, dancing, smiling, and etc, till they are no longer capable of working. That's madness, let them go, they've entertained you enough for more than 20 years. What's wrong with them? Also demographically SMAP attracts fans who are in their 40s since the group has been around for about 20 years. Well in their 40s, they are still fantasizing and dreaming about the idols?? It's ridiculous if they were teenagers that's totally understandable but people who are in their 40s still so obsessed with idols? That's insane.
