The Four Seasons Mistery in Japan

When Japanese people try to impress foreigners or trying to promote something about Japan, they often talk about Japan having four season. Umm, okay, it's not something that would impress foreigners because four seasons basically exists everywhere in the world. Japanese people nevertheless, seem to believe that four seasons only exist in Japan. Nowadays they even go so far to call it five seasons including the rainy season of June. 

I want to make a suggestion to you Japanese people to stop talk about the four seasons when you are trying to impress someone or promote Japan because it will only make you look like a dumbass.

Anyone, with a basic understanding of the world geography would certainly know that Japan is not the only country with four seasons and by proudly talking about four seasons only makes you look miserably stupid. Japanese people, stop that shit, I am being kind to you by telling you the truth. 

I have to do some research on why the Japanese started to believe and care about four seasons. Honestly, I don't know when and why this became a common belief in Japan.
